Is there also a solvent for the adhesive? Otherwise, I only see a limited advantage over drilling.

According to our supplier, it is a silicone glue that is easy to remove. You can make the solvent yourself, mix one part vinegar and two parts water, then let it soak in for about 10 minutes, apply it to a damp cloth and remove any residue with a scraper.
