Hello everyone I read about an incident with this Neakasa toilet in a Neakasa group on Facebook. I don't quite understand everything, or almost can't imagine it...but somehow a magnet came loose (...where!?!?), the drum didn't stop and the kitten was killed...it is said to have happened in the Asian area...Neakasa is trying to contact the person to clarify exactly what happened. This incident is neither proven nor disproven.... apparently there was a recent software update to slow down the speed (if I understood correctly).... long story short... So far I've been super happy with the toilet since last autumn....but this (hopefully only) rumour gives me food for thought....anyone know more? Ev Galaxus itself as the distributor of Neakasa? Thanks for the support!!!!
So my drum doesn't close completely either way. Unless I empty it completely for cleaning & then this is done manually. When it cleans &/or the poo bag is full, there is still an area open. So big that my 5.5kg cat can still get in or out easily. I've seen it myself and I can smell it when my cat wants to get in like an arsehole.
In addition, I have never noticed a software update in the last few months and it takes me 3 minutes to clean correctly. I don't know how much slower the Tommel should turn, I think it takes slow enough already
An incident with a kitten that was injured (but thankfully on the mend) has been confirmed. There are magnets in the liner that are supposed to prevent "over-rotation". In the incident, a magnet had probably come loose and the kitten was trapped during the cleaning process. Neakasa has analysed the incident and identified the problem. An update of the firmware to the latest version will now prevent such an incident. However, it certainly doesn't hurt to check whether the magnets are corroded and stuck. Liquid dripping from the edge of the liner could damage the magnets (I stuck Gorrilla tape over the edges of the liner). There is probably a better liner now, but I don't know if we can get it in Switzerland. The incident in Asia (Vietnam) has still not been confirmed as far as I know. The owner is still not responding to attempts by Neakasa to contact him. It is also unclear, if this is what happened (many doubt the version), whether the owners had updated the firmware to prevent something like this from happening. I have two in use and no problems (like most people). In my opinion, Neakasa did everything right and didn't sweep anything under the carpet. I still use them without hesitation. But perhaps Galaxus or the third-party distributor knows more about this.
