The Corbow root, originating from the tropics, is one of the most popular aquarium decorations. It is a pure natural product. The beautifully branched root is sandblasted and can be additionally decorated with moss or epiphytic plants if desired. Roots not only serve to decorate an aquarium – many aquarium inhabitants use the root as a welcome hiding place. Territorial fish can retreat and stay out of each other's way. Wood-eating catfish or armored catfish prefer to rasp on this additional food source, and shrimp also enjoy grazing on the mangrove wood. Caution: The root should be soaked for several days before being placed in the aquarium. If the root does not sink immediately, it can be weighed down with a stone or another heavy object during the initial period to keep it submerged.
