Product details
The simple, powerful line of these handcrafted vessels is based on the essential basic forms of African craftsmanship. This applies to their thick-walled bodies as well as the cross grooves accentuated by the play of shadows. They achieve their antique appearance through an oil-based glaze, which is refined with lacquer after firing. Whether as a plant pot or as a decorative solitaire: Sansibar sets an effective ethnocultural accent. The high-fired vessel is not waterproof due to the material-specific sweating at the bottom. It is advisable to use an insert or a saucer for more delicate floors or surfaces to avoid moisture rings. Sansibar is not frost-resistant.
