The Aalto vase was designed in 1936 and was first presented at the Paris World Expo the following year. Its flowing, organic shape is still mouth-blown at the Iittala factory today. A team of seven highly skilled craftsmen is required to produce a single Aalto vase – an icon of modern design. Alvar Aalto created a vase that inspired, influenced, and ultimately endured through its time. Simple yet rebellious – it is the shape that moves.

Inspired by waves ("aalto" in Finnish), this vase is a symbol of Finnish design and one of the most famous glass objects in the world.
