The Epson EcoTank ET-4850 printer does not use conventional cartridges, but instead a reusable ink tank system. This system includes four tanks for black, cyan, magenta and yellow. The ink tanks provide a yield of 7500 pages in black and white and 6000 pages in colour.

The ink tanks are designed to be easily refilled with compatible ink bottles, such as those in the Epson 502 series.
