Is it possible to print via Android with the Epson EcoTank ET-4856? I suspect so, but the specifications only say "Apple AirPrint".

Yes, of course you can use Android and Apple. Epson also has an app called "Epson iPrint" that can be downloaded and installed for Apple smartphones and Android. There are many good functions.
