Sam is eleven and has leukemia. He records his observations and thoughts in a diary—with the scientific intention of documenting his dying for posterity. He even has a solution for the difficult question of how to portray the moment of his death: a questionnaire for his parents. But before that happens, he wants to enjoy life to the fullest. Together with his friend Felix, who is also battling cancer, he creates a list of things he wants to experience: setting a world record, being a teenager, riding in a dirigible.
