Sam McBratney studied history and political science at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. He was a primary school teacher but retired early to focus on his career as an author. He lived in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. His many books, stories, and audio plays for children and adults have become great successes. "Guess How Much I Love You" has sold over 52 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 57 languages. Sam McBratney passed away on September 18, 2020. He is survived by his wife, three adult children, and six grandchildren.

Anita Jeram was born and raised in Portsmouth, England, and completed her artistic training in Manchester. She now lives with her family in Northern Ireland. Anita Jeram has successfully developed her own stories. Her illustrations of the two rabbits in Sam McBratney's "Guess How Much I Love You" are a worldwide sensation.
