Author's Note
Eric Carle, born in 1929 in Syracuse, New York, is the creator of the picture book classic "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and many other globally beloved picture books. He lived in Germany from 1935 to 1952 before returning to the USA. He resides in Northampton, Massachusetts. Since 1968, he has published children's and youth books that have been translated into over 30 languages and have received numerous awards.
