@Adrianleem0 The quality of the OCR PDFs was sufficient. However, I was not satisfied with the final file size as the files were not compressed enough. For this reason I got Adobe Acrobat Pro, which does the OCR really well and quickly. Also the file compression makes a very clean scan possible at plus-minus 150KB per A4 page. Other programmes achieved file sizes from 500KB to several MB and did not come close to the quality I achieved with Acrobat and the N7100. Scan settings 300DPI Straightening of the scan OCR settings in Adobe Acrobat 150DPI Straightening of the scan So I scan with high quality and reduce the quality during OCR: This gave me the best results in terms of quality and file size.

Yes, it can. I use SFTP to scan directly to my NAS. Works wonderfully. It can also do OCR, but I'm not happy with it and therefore don't use it. I use Acrobat Pro for that. For this reason, I cannot give an objective comment on OCR. However, setting it up is a bit difficult and takes a lot of time (if you have little experience). Also, I have to do the configuration using Windows, as I have not found the admin software for macOS. The admin software works on the device level. So the settings are written locally to the device. The computers do not have to be switched on to scan to the NAS. A look at the manual (before buying) will give you more useful information about FTP/SFTP and OCR. I highly recommend it.
