Irene Adler is sent to Vienna by Mycroft Holmes, where she is to meet a man named Hans Gruber. However, upon arriving at his apartment, she finds the man dead on the street. Gruber was on the trail of a secret organization that appears to be planning something significant. Irene meets the actor Franz, the deceased's friend, who subsequently assists her in her investigations. But soon, they find themselves caught between the police and the murderers who are on their trail. The clues eventually lead to the Prater. A dramatic confrontation occurs on the Ferris wheel, where the mask of the murderer, to whom Irene is exposed, also falls.
