Heidi lives happily with her grandfather in the Alps. However, happiness does not last long. Soon, Heidi is taken to Frankfurt by her aunt, where she is to learn to read and write and keep company with the sick Klara. Although Heidi gets along wonderfully with her new friend Klara, the girl suffers terribly from homesickness. Maja Dusíková has sensitively and elaborately illustrated the unabridged story. Additionally, the text has been gently modernized.
