After the conclusion of the series Battle Angel Alita - Last Order with volume 19, the Japanese publisher Kodansha began publishing the sequel series Battle Angel Alita - Mars Chronicle in its magazine Evening. Alita, a cyborg with a newly infused life, has always sought to learn more about her past. In her quest to piece together all the fragments she has known so far and to discover her true roots, Alita travels to Mars, where she gets closer to uncovering the whole truth about her legendary Martian fighting technique, the Panzer Kunst.
