Ruhrstadt, Auf dem Holzweg null B: The reclusive penny novel author Rudbert Rubenstein, aka Rud, lives with the chaotic private detective Stanislav Lauchmann, aka Stan, in an involuntary shared apartment. Time and again, Rud is drawn into hair-raising adventures by his housemate, which he endures only because they inspire him to write new novels. Disguised as a vampire and a werewolf, Rud and Stan travel to Transylvania to participate in a spooky role-playing game. However, due to a fatal mix-up at the airport, they end up at a real vampire party: the wedding of Countess Farlina. When the two friends realize the mistake, they want to escape. But the path from the castle to the village is long, and the party guests are already sharpening their fangs.
