Comprehensive application description: Nipple shields are useful in three situations:

1. When the nipples are cracked or sore. This condition can be caused by various factors, so it is very important to identify the cause. First, try hydrogel pads or nipple shields from Medela, which are also available in our shop. If that doesn't help, contact shields can protect your nipples while breastfeeding.

2. If you have inverted or flat nipples, it may be difficult for your baby to latch on. Inverted or flat nipples often do not reach the baby's palate, which can inhibit the sucking reflex. However, this does not exclude the possibility of breastfeeding. Contact overlays, which are tasteless and BPA-free, can help, so your child will not notice the difference when using them.

3. If the baby has difficulty latching onto the breast. In this case, overlays are a short-term solution. Once your baby gets used to breastfeeding and has the strength to suck, you can start weaning them off the nipple shield.
