I also had to upgrade to a Fractal Meshify 2 XL Light (ATX, mATX, Mini ITX, E-ATX) because the previous case didn't have enough space. Although 2 x 140 mm fans fitted easily between the mainboard and the case, there was no heat sink.
I can highly recommend the case, not cheap at 200 euros, but very high quality and well thought out. The only thing I miss is a drive bay, even though I can't remember the last time I inserted a DVD ;)

Have you tried putting it at the top rather than the front? I also have the 4000D but a 4070 and ram Corsair vengeance because the height is smaller (<34mm)
