What is the difference to the "normal" G5?

The LG G5 SE is the so-called "light" version of the normal G5. Instead of a Snapdragon 820, the G5 SE is supposed to make do with a Snapdragon 652 (MSM8976) octa-core processor. And instead of 4 GB of RAM, only 3 GB are on board.

Basically the same phone, just a little worse hardware.
