What is the difference between WD My Cloud Mirror and WD My Cloud Mirror Gen2? According to WD's product list, why does WD My Cloud Mirror Gen2 not have an operating system?

I copied it from hardwareschotte.de, there are big differences:

While the predecessor only had a single-core processor, the second generation of the My Cloud Mirror comes with a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and 512 megabytes of RAM. More precisely, it is a Marvell ARMADA 385 1.3 GHz dual-core CPU supported by 512 MB DDR3 SDRAM. According to Western Digital, these hardware improvements bring a 1.5 to 2 times performance boost. The device has a gigabit network connection and two USB 3.0 ports.

The Gen2 version is merely a new generation of the Cloud Mirror model without any serious differences. According to WD, no operating system is missing.
