The protective cover that comes with it, can it be used to any extent'?
It's OK as an edge protector. However, all the dust quickly collects on the edge. In the long run, it probably needs a higher quality protection.
No, not really, very cheap.
On the other hand... cheap, but it still protects against scratches. Guaranteed better than nothing at all.
