It is possible to expand the system with other Multiroom boxes from LG (H5, H3 etc). Do I need this box 'LG music flow R1'? Is this extended setup (additional boxes, such as H3) then a real 7.1 surround sound or only a virtual one (as no real DTS)? Can I use the LG 'Private Sound' function with this system?

Helpful answer
1. the R1 (MR140) is needed to establish the mesh network.
2. 5.1 surround sound can be played back together with a Music Flow Soundbar from LG. The subwoofer is provided by the soundbar.

Further information on the possible setup is also available at http://www.lg.com/ch_de...

I must first clarify the question about the interaction of MusicFlow Multiroom devices and the Private Sound Mode.

That's it, thanks for the correction!

I would like to point out again that a soundbar must be used in a surround system to "create" a 5.1 surround system. 5.1 is (currently) the upper limit - no 7.1 system is possible.
