I think this CPU is without a cooler, and even if it came with a stock cooler, I wouldn't recommend it because it can't maintain the boost clock speed over time.

The i9-7900X comes without a boxed CPU cooler. This CPU generates far more heat than such a cooler could decently regulate. It is therefore highly recommended to use a large air cooler or a water cooler.

You can also operate this CPU without a cooler and overclock it. Kind regards Pesche

Yes, it is without a cooler. I put a noctua d15 on it. it's enormous but the system is cool and very quiet. Thanks to all for the answers.

thanks for the answers. would like to use a water cooler but i haven't mounted one yet and it seems to be much more difficult than a normal fan.
