Is the photo quality as good or better than the iphone 7? A colleague has the se 3rd gen, saved the photos in heic, but the photos are much worse than my jpg from the iPhone 7

i have no experience with iphone 7, but i can say that the camera is not a strong point of iphone se 3.gen compared to the iphones of my colleagues. i bought it because of the form factor and the new processor technology.
