Question about Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X SFP

I'm using this against a vendor supplied Router/Modem configured to Bridge mode. The maximum speed I can reach is around 450 Mbit/sec - before using this router (where the vendor modem was not in Bridge mode) I achieved about double that. It's a 1Gbit connection. Is it simply not possible to achieve 1 GBit using this router, or am I missing something?

I actually found a solution. Source was this article. https://community.ui.com/questions...

Essentially I entered the CLI of the router and gave these commands

admin@ubnt:~$ configure
admin@ubnt:~# set system offload hwnat enable
admin@ubnt:~# commit; save; exit

And just like that, speed doubled. I am now getting around 900 Mbit/sec (still not 1 Gbit but now we're close enough).

What I don't understand is; why is a setting like this not enabled by default?

I don't have a solution for you, but I also noticed a similar change in maximum speed with Init7 when I switched from using a Tp-Link MC220L.
