I'm actually very interested in the Pixel 6, but some of the reviews talk about black screens and so on. Is it really so susceptible, or are these exceptions?

Hey, I've had the Pixel 6 for several months now.
It's true that there were a lot of problems in the beginning, but they got less and less with software patches.
I have experienced it myself and now even have android 13 on it. Everything seems to run +- cleanly now.

What is to be criticised, which is probably due to the hardware, is the battery life. Depending on how often you use it, it only lasts 6-8 hours. It could also be that I have too many apps running in the background.
