If I need 6 radio units and buy 3x2 sets or a set of 4 + a set of 2. Can I then use all 6? Do they all run on the same frequency or is that not possible? thank you for your help.

Yes, that is possible. The frequency can be selected with a rotary switch. If you run them all on the same channel, all 6 radios will listen in.
