I have had the Samsung S27H850 monitor for about 2 years and would like to buy another one privately. In the office we also have about 25 other Samsung S27H850 monitors. I think it's a shame that you can't really charge our computers (Dell XPS 13 9380) via the USB-C interface. According to the description, the interface should be able to deliver 45W. The Dell has a 45W power supply. That means it should actually fit perfectly. In reality, however, the display constantly goes off and on. If you have a lot of patience and restart both devices several times while they are connected, it finally works. But that is tedious. The problem occurs with all our Samsung S27H850 monitors, which means we had to install external power supplies. And yes, we use the original Samsung USB-C cables. On the internet you can find various other people describing the problem, but only nonsensical answers. Thank you very much.

Helpful answer

I don't have a Samsung, but I have my MacBook Air connected via USB-C. The laptop charges itself via the interface.
However, the monitor does not support Thunderbolt, so the monitor simply stays black. Therefore, the monitor is definitely unsuitable for new MacBooks.

I have a MacBook Pro 2019 with this monitor everything works without problems. No matter if charging, sound, data or picture. Maybe the cable is not compatible if it doesn't work. I have a monitor cable from Belkin.
