I would like to use the Seagate Backup Plus Hub with my Synology DS216Play to centralize all the image backups of the different computers in the family. Each image would be about 300 GB. Is this possible via the USB 3 port of the Synology?

I don't have this model of hard drive or Syno (DS1511+), but in principle it should accept all USB hard drives. I have connected both 3.5" and 2.5" external drives, USB2.0 as well as USB3.0, without any problems.

Via the USB 3 port of my DS918+, I centralize all my backups on the Seagate without any problem. I think this is also applicable to the DS216play.
