Question about TP-Link Uh700

I have read that this hub has problems with the power supply when several (especially older) HDs are connected. I would like to connect 7 external HDs without their own power supply at the same time under Win 7. Is this possible?

The power supply unit provides 12 VDC x 2 A = 24 W. USB has 5 VDC. For all 7 ports, a total of max. 24 W / 5 V = 4.8 A is available (minus a few % conversion loss). 3 of the 7 ports provide an output current of max. 1.5 A.
For the 7 HD this means: if they do not need more than approx. 4.5 A current at the 5 V USB in total, this USB hub works. (I cannot say whether Win 7 can cope with this).

This should work because it comes with an external power supply.
