Question about Sony TA-AN1000

I have been using the TA-AN1000 for about 6 months. So far so good. However, I have noticed the high heat development in standby mode. The measured power consumption in standby mode is approx. 20 watts after the device has been switched off for around 5 hours (with WLAN and Bluetooth deactivated!). I consider this to be far too high. Have you also had this experience?

Helpful answer
Hi Phil68,

we are sorry to hear this. You can save power by setting up the unit as follows:

-Set [Audio Return Channel], [Control for HDMI] and [Standby Divert] to [Off] in the [HDMI Settings] menu.
-Set [Network/Bluetooth Standby] in the [System Settings] menu to [Off].
-Set [Power] of [Zone2] or [Zone3] in the [Zone B.Elements] menu to [Off].

If the problem is still not solved, reset the unit.

-Select [Setup] - [Reset] in the start menu.
-Select [All settings].
-Select [Start].

If you still need help, we recommend that you contact us directly. Visit our website to get in touch with us.

Hi Phil68 - I don't have an answer, but a question of my own. Which speakers are you using with the receiver and in 5.1 or 7.1 mode? Above all, it would be interesting to know what impedance your speakers have and how it sounds (an 1000 has a 6-16 impedance range, which it covers). My speakers (Canton Movie 135) cover 4-8 impedance and I'm not sure if this is optimal with an1000. Thanks for your feedback.
