I have a Synology router and am actually still very happy with it. Everything "Parental control, port forwarding. DHCP" runs via it. However, the Synology satellites are no longer so great. Can I simply configure the Deco as APs and the Syno router still does the rest?

Yes, you can configure the Deco XE75 as access points (APs). In this mode, the Deco XE75 takes on the role of a network amplifier while your Synology router continues to manage the routing functions and other settings such as parental controls, port forwarding and DHCP. To operate the Deco XE75 as an AP, you must switch it to access point mode, which is possible in the Deco app. This mode allows you to use the mesh function to ensure a seamless connection between the Deco devices while the Synology router retains the main functions.
