If Samsung Pay or the Samsung Wallet app gives you an error message when you start it and nothing works, then you have probably received a device that was not produced for Switzerland and it needs to be exchanged!
There seems to have been a mistake in Digitec's supply chain, so some devices for Croatia ended up here in Zurich. I had two white S22+s where this was the case.
Samsung Pay Support (freephone 0800 726 729, just wait and don't go to tech. support with 1) can tell you what the error is. Support) can identify the region from the smartphone using the unique IMEI number. Supporter:in has to make an internal ticket for this and you have to wait another two, three days.
Then I got this answer:
We are contacting you regarding your difficulty with using the Samsung Pay app.
Regarding your concern, we would like to inform you that our responsible specialist department has reviewed your case.
We have received the following feedback:
The IMEI of the devices indicates that they originate from Croatia, which is not yet approved for Samsung Pay.
If the device was purchased in Switzerland, please contact the seller to complain.
The seller should replace the device with one from the Swiss market. If the seller does not have it, you can request a refund.
You can find a list of all supported countries here:
https://www.samsung.com/ch...Since in Hong Kong the S22+ supports Samsung Pay, I exchanged the Croatia device for this version at Digitec. I had to pay the extra charge.
This means that Samsung Pay works in Switzerland, but unfortunately the region will receive the security update later and the update for the Samsung Wallet app has not yet been rolled out...
I therefore recommend the CH version of the S22+, the Snapdragon is not noticeably better, even slower in multitasking. It's really stupid that Digitec doesn't ensure that they sell CH devices and that this has cost me unnecessary nerves and money. I'm sure more customers are affected by this purchase or delivery error and I think Digitec should be proactive and inform the affected customers.
