How is the WAN/LAN throughput? I have Fiber7 (1 Gbps synchronous) and the throughput should be at least 700-800 Mbps.

Hello,

on every test I've done so far it's managed 700mbps in both directions, sometimes over 800.

Important: you have to activate "Offloading" so that the NAT functions are executed hardware-accelerated. For this you have to have a current firmware installed (I think at least 1.8.5.) and I had to activate this via command line.
Also, you must not use the device as a switch, because switch functions are executed in software and thus fully utilise the CPU. This is then also at the expense of the routing functions.

Not recommended for fibre7. If NAT hardware offloading is activated (this is the only way to achieve 1Gbps), this router regularly loses the connection to the ISP for a short time because it sends invalid packets.
This is documented here: https://community.ubnt.com/t5...

It is better to spend 200 more and get an EdgeRouter 4 and a switch, for example.

With Fiber7, it always manages somewhere between 500 Mbps "down" and 600 Mbps "up" - no matter which server I select at speedtest.net. Setup is as follows:
- SFP optic is plugged directly into the Edgerouter and came pre-configured from Init7 for the Edgerouter.
- Offloading is activated
- Latest firmware (v1.9.7+hotfix.2 from 22.08.2017) is installed.
- The test takes place via a MacBook Pro connected directly to the router via Cat 6 cable (via firewire to ethernet adapter).

Is, to be honest, not quite as fixed as I had hoped. Now I'm wondering what else I can try to achieve better results.

I hereby confirm that this router achieves more than 900Mbit/s both WAN/LAN and LAN/LAN, each measured with iperf and speedtest.

For me, 927Mbit/s in download and 941Mbit/s in upload via Fiber 7. But you need the latest firmware and must activate the above-mentioned NAT offloading (hardware acceleration) on the CLI.
