Good morning everyone I recently bought the Bose Ultra Soundbar and just can't get it to work via HDMI ARC. My setup looks like this: TV = Samsung KS 8090 with ARC connection Streambox = Google TV Streamer Box Bose Ultra Soundbar Philipps Hue Sync Box I have currently connected the devices as follows Bose Ultra Soundbar = via HDMI to the TV HDMI IN 4 ARC connection Google TV Streamer = via HDMI to the Philipps Hue Sync Box Philipps Hue Sync Box = via HDMI Out to the HDMI IN 1 on the TV (no ARC) I have switched on the CEC or Aynet + on Samsung for the TV, Google TV Streamer and Philipps Hue Sync Box. The lights and the TV work, but I just can't get any sound from the soundbar. Via optical cable it works without any problems. I went through the various Bose CEC options - but without success. Perhaps the question is: Are these simply applied by "switching"? Or does the soundbar have to be restarted somehow? Do you have any other ideas? I've spent hours trying it out and am at a loss. :'( Many thanks and LG Marcel

Hi Marcel, I also had similar problems with connections from Samsung and Bose soundbars (HDMI and optical) in conjunction with a Samsung TV.
Neither Samsung nor Bose support were able to help me with this.
The feedback from Samsung was useless and nothing was received from Bose.

I have now been able to solve this problem as follows:
The TV must be defined as the source for sound playback for the soundbar! (in 2 places)
Make sure that the soundbar is not defined as the sound source for the TV. This is done when the TV wants to assign the connections automatically.

- Assign the HDMI connection on the Samsung TV under Sources/Connection diagram/Media playback and audio devices.
- Also assign the HDMI connection on the Samsung TV under Settings/Sound.

The same must be defined for Optical connection. (either, or)

If necessary, switch off the power everywhere beforehand, then switch on either HDMI cable or optical fibre.
It should also be noted that after a certain time the settings are lost (for some reason).
The problem is clearly due to the Samsung TV and the year of the device.
Have fun. LG, Peter

Hi Marcel, unfortunately I have the same problem and gave up at some point. I now use the soundbar via an optical connection. I'm sorry I can't help. Of course I would also be interested in a solution. Best regards, Sefi
