Question about Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X SFP

Does the router work with Swisscom Fibre? Can the router also be used without "routing functions"? With a pfSense firewall connected behind it, I would simply like to be able to terminate the public IP from Swisscom FTTH directly, because the Internet box does not support bridging. Unfortunately, the firewall does not have an SFP port and therefore I need such an intermediate part. In principle, of course, a simple Swiztch with 1x SFP and 1x RJ45 would also suffice. But they are all likely to be about the same price as this one. :D

Yes, the EdgeRouter X SFP works with Swisscom fibre. Users report successful use with Swisscom FTTH connections.

Regarding the second question: The router can also be used without active routing functions. You can configure it as a pure bridge device to forward the Public IP from Swisscom directly to your pfSense firewall. The SFP port terminates the fibre optic connection and you can forward the connection to pfSense via one of the five RJ45 ports. This means the device works just like a switch with an SFP port, without you having to use the routing functions.
