Can you operate the device without a Google (or Motorola) account and switch off the AI functionalities?

No, as a former Google subsidiary, Motorola seems to be loyal to Google. I was able to switch off the AI stuff without any problems. (Button assignment change). Have a look at Shifphone. They come to mind spontaneously, regarding Google-free Android. Since 2014, no smartphone has given me as much pleasure as the Razr60 ultra. Despite google, it deserves a chance.
