The manual adjustment of the lens allows for control over the image results at your fingertips. An ergonomic design is crucial in this regard. The focus ring on Zeiss lenses is optimized for quick, precise adjustments, thanks to its user-friendly design and ergonomic finger placement. Changes are immediately visible in the viewfinder. All lens surfaces of Zeiss lenses are equipped with T anti-reflective coating and an optical design that produces brilliant images even in low light conditions. For this purpose, special substances are vaporized in high vacuum one after the other with very high energy, which then deposit on the glass surface as layers with precisely controlled thicknesses to achieve the desired reduction in reflections. The first coatings were already applied by Zeiss in the 1930s.
