The story of Ivalice – a kingdom that shines under the light of the gods and the rule of the two-headed lion. A year had passed since the defeat against the neighboring country of Ordallia in the Fifty-Year War. After the king died from an illness, the two-year-old prince was to govern the land from then on. In the dispute over his guardianship, two esteemed generals faced each other, both of whom had made a name for themselves in numerous battles of the recent war: the Black Lion, Duke Goltanna, and the White Lion, Duke Larg, each adorned with the animal that bore their name on their coat of arms. The conflict between these ambitious feudal lords would go down in history as the Lion War. Amidst this tumultuous era lived two young men: Ramza, a scion of the esteemed knightly family Beoulve, and Delita, who came from humble beginnings and had grown up alongside the noble Ramza. They too would be swept away by the relentless tide of events on their journey.
