Positioning/Cam Module SIMATIC S7-300 FM351/2. The FM 351 positioning module is used for controlled positioning with drives for high transverse speeds and slow feed in the S7-300 automation system. The module features 2 independent channels, allowing it to control a rotary and a linear axis simultaneously. It supports an incremental encoder or an absolute encoder (SSI) for each channel. Multiple FM 351 positioning modules can be operated simultaneously and can be combined with other FM/CP modules. A typical application would be the combination with an electronic cam controller of type FM 352. Two axes, with axis types including: linear axis and rotary axis. Four digital outputs per axis and four digital inputs per axis. Typical drives/motors: standard motor – relay-controlled, standard motor with frequency converter, and asynchronous motor on power section with vector control. The position measurement systems include: 5 V incremental encoders, symmetrical, 24 V incremental encoders, asymmetrical, and SSI absolute encoders. The monitoring functions include: monitoring of the operating range via software limit switch, standstill monitoring, encoder monitoring, monitoring of axis movement, and target approach. The system environment includes: central application, SIMATIC S7-300 from CPU 314, and distributed use with ET 200M.
