I'm a mobile phone nerd and I'm always looking for the perfect phone for my needs. But there is no such thing, just the phone with the fewest compromises.
Things this thing does right:
finally handy again thanks to 18:9 - IP 68 - wide angle camera - battery surprisingly good - display is bright - device is very sturdily made.
Things it could do better:
Processor from 2017 and not 2016 - No Amoled display
LG is clearly taking the "less is more" approach to design and software (which is amazingly good on 7.0 and light weight), which is just right for me. I'm looking forward to more LG products, a good 4 years after my G2 I can finally enjoy the company again.

A very good device, unfortunately somewhat overshadowed by the S8. However, it can keep up with it in terms of both design and performance. No jerking, always ready immediately. The photos are very good and the camera is very easy to use. The zoom function automatically selects the most suitable camera.
No bloatware installed, apart from the "LG Friends". But this can be deactivated and is therefore not a problem.
The UI now looks much tidier and the icons all look the same. Very well done and an alternative to the S8. With the current "exchange campaign" certainly a good and relatively inexpensive upgrade.
The black version is very similar to the HTC U Ultra on the back. Which is no mistake. From the front, however, the design is certainly very unique. Almost only screen.

The new 18:9 screen format shows more than 16:9 displays. Quite pleasant for reading apps. Videos can be zoomed in to fill the screen. Then a usually bearable strip is cut off at the top and bottom.
Fingerprint unlocking is smooth and fast.
The CPU speed is good, I didn't notice any judder.
Unfortunately, only 32 GB of memory are installed. Of this, 22 GB can be used effectively. There is a memory card slot, and I have 128 GB in it. But it takes time to fill it...
Battery life without Allways-on is OK, the phone easily runs a commuter day with 2 hours of video & reading per day.
With allways-on, it lasts just over the day until the evening. It is better to charge again before going out, fast charging is supported.
My consumption values without Allways-on display: 1.5% discharge per hour; with Allways-on display in the most energy-saving setting: 4% discharge per hour.
It's a pity that there is no notification LED as an alternative.
The camera pictures are good, the wide-angle lens is fun. Unfortunately, the zoom cannot be set to the volume buttons.
An FM radio with RDS is available, but the stations cannot be named.
Interesting as an alternative to the S8 thanks to Digitec's special offer price with trade-in for 550.
I preferred the LG G6 to the Samsung S8 because of the FM radio.

The LG G6 offers a great display and is very well made. The battery life is also completely convincing. However, its biggest weakness this year is once again the competition. You simply get more there at the moment.
I also find it a shame that little has changed on the software and camera side compared to the predecessor. Furthermore, a Snapdragon 821 processor from 2016 and 32GB internal memory do not quite fit a high-end smartphone in 2017.
I find LG's model policy absolutely incomprehensible. Why is there no uniform version for all countries. We in Europe only get a slimmed-down G6. That's why the price is also on the decline.

I was very disappointed with the LG G6. The cameras are a joke, especially the selfiecam! A laptop from 2007 takes better pictures with the built-in webcam. It also has a very cheap vibration motor. Luckily I bought the thing during a promotion and didn't pay the introductory price, because that would be an absolute rip-off!

I wasn't sure whether to buy the G6 or the S8. But what made me decide was the dual camera with the wide-angle lens. And I don't regret it. The normal camera is great! The wide-angle lens is even more fun. Both take beautiful sharp pictures!
I'm totally thrilled after 2 days.
The G6 runs absolutely smoothly, feels good and has a great screen.

Excellent value for money, LG's Android interface is not the best but by far not the worst. It's right up there with the iPhone 7 for Apple fans if you take away its only downside, which is the photo quality. They are still very good but they don't compete with an iPhone, especially in low light.

LG has made a precision landing with this device.
It has a top build quality, feels stable and pleasant to the touch, and looks simply outstanding.
Despite a display ratio of 2:1, it is still relatively handy, unlike similar devices such as the Galaxy S8.
The performance is top notch. Everything runs as fast as lightning and without jerks or bugs.
The device "only" has a mono speaker, which is located on the bottom (relatively stupid but unfortunately very common placement), but it convinces with good volume and stable sound reproduction. It does not sound quietly tinny like other IP68-certified devices.
The HiFi DAC is completely convincing, if you have the necessary audio files. But even with 24-bit files, a small but fine difference can be heard.
The camera is probably the most flexible of all the flagship cameras. It shoots strong pictures, whether in good or bad conditions. The wide-angle function is a great "gimmick" and can really amaze you.
The video quality is also top notch.
What stands out for me personally is the quality of sound recordings, whether in videos or audio recordings. The recordings are amazingly detailed.
The battery easily lasts me 1.5 to 2.5 days. Yes, I am not a heavy user. I use my smartphone mainly for writing and making calls (which is what these things were originally invented for). But I also take a photo every now and then during the day and listen to a lot of music. In the evening, I do a bit of YouTube and surfing.
All in all, in my opinion, the device is the most accessible and practical flagship in 2017 (so far).
It has no weaknesses and is very cheap compared to other overpriced flagships (Galaxy S8, iPhone 7, HTC U11), although it can easily keep up, if not lead.
Definite buy recommendation.

Top smartphone for anyone looking for a high-end device.
Battery life, camera, performance and display are convincing all along the line.
Workmanship is on a good level, apart from two small points of criticism (volume buttons have a little too much play and the display rounding in the corners are not so perfect.
All in all, a good alternative to the Galaxy S8, especially if you don't like the edge of the Samsung. However, it's a shame that LG doesn't offer wireless charging and 32-bit audio in Europe.

I don't want to spend more than 500 francs on a smartphone. That's why I bought the LG G6.
Important to me were:
- Battery (no recharging during the day). I commute a lot and for a long time. Therefore I often stream Netflix
- Camera
- No gimmicks in the OS (as close as possible to pure Android)
I think the OS is very well done, although I now use the Evie launcher.
The battery easily lasts a day for me.
The 16:8 display takes some getting used to, but after a short time I don't want to give it up. But you have to be aware that not all apps support 2:1.
The camera takes very good photos, especially during the day.

I have been using the phone continuously for some time now and am very satisfied.
Display: 18:9 format may be unusual at first, but the extra space is really practical (e.g. for multitasking tabs). The display is also high-resolution with 1400p and therefore razor-sharp.
Camera(s): On the back, the dual camera quickly catches the eye. One of the lenses is a wide-angle lens. I like this feature very much. I would rate the picture quality as average to good, there are definitely better smartphone cameras.
Performance: Although the phone does not have the fastest processor currently available, the performance is very good. I haven't noticed anything negative about the performance so far.
Battery: I use the phone actively throughout the day (listening to music, web browsing, messaging, watching videos). So far, I still had around 50% battery charge in the evening. The battery is perfectly adequate for average use.
Other features:
-OS: At the moment, the device still runs Android 7.0, with relatively few pre-installed apps. I also like the LG UI relatively well.
-Fingerprint sensor: Reacts quite quickly, but sometimes it takes me two attempts before it works. The sensor is also the lock button and is very easy to reach with the index finger.
-Type-C: The phone has a USB Type-C port and is therefore quick-charge compatible.
Negative points (not really bad):
-Speaker: You can easily cover it with your finger because the speaker is on the bottom. The sound quality is also only acceptable.
-3.5 mm jack: Fortunately, the phone still has a 3.5 mm headphone jack, but on the top. I would prefer to have it on the bottom, as this means you always have to put the phone "upside down" in your pocket when listening to music.
Conclusion:
The phone does extremely well for the price.

At the price at which it is sold now you can't find better! The V30 is bigger and more expensive while the G6 can be used with one hand thanks to its software and size! Never a slowdown, never a freeze, fast and ready in every situation, always takes me to the evening with intensive use! Astro Black is really elegant! Of course, if they had made a single version for the whole world... but with good headphones the need for the DAC+ is not felt. I would have really liked wireless charging, but it has fast charging and that's fine! Wi-Fi and 4g/LTE data signal don't give me any problems, signal fix always ready (at least in Switzerland). Screen excellent even under the sun (remove the film on the screen which is not oleophobic at all)! A transparent cover is welcome (I immediately scratched the gorilla Glass 5 back next to the cameras almost imperceptibly) while frontally nothing, all ok! Always on display really useful and since I go on foot and public transport ....BELIEVE THAT FM RADIO IS PRESENT!!!

I think the LG is somewhat overshadowed by the S8 and other flagship devices.
You have to reckon with about 1 second more charging time for certain apps, but that makes no difference at all in everyday life. The whole design is also much more robust than an S8 or Edge display, which are 99% likely to break on the first drop. With the G6, even a protective cover does not destroy the whole look, which you have paid dearly for with other devices, in order to surround the bezel-less display again with a protective cover afterwards. For its size, the G6 has a wonderfully large display that is also easy to read outdoors. The battery easily lasts me the whole day, even if I use Google Maps, Outlook and Spotify almost all the time. The battery is also quickly recharged.
For me, the G6 is well made, with a great design and a great camera that offers many settings. In my opinion, you won't find anything comparable for the price (399.- on offer).

Highly recommended at this price (479.--). Super upper class mobile phone. The unorthodox display format (2:1) is noticeable during films/Youtube, but not really annoying. The format can be adjusted for games. Has a USB-C port, but the charger only has the usual USB-A port, so no USB-C power. Thanks to Quick Charge, however, it is still fast.

I am now on my third LG phone and have had very different experiences. The G5 had a battery problem, fortunately I was able to exchange it for the successor model G6, which I am very happy with. The camera and battery life are top notch and the phone feels good in the hand for big hands. I also like the almost bezel-free display. The only thing that bothers me are the few hangs I've had since I started using it about 1 month ago. All in all, a real alternative to the much more expensive Samsung & Apple smartphones!

I've had it for a month now. Excellent mobile phone that doesn't stand out. Fits well in the hand and is very well made. Can withstand a lot: although I was unable to test whether it could withstand the 1.2 m drop to the ground according to the specifications, it passed a 50 cm test unintentionally without damage. It doesn't stand out with the best possible current specifications, but the device is simply "coherent". For me, the 32GB internal memory is no problem, easily expanded with a 128GB card. Fingerprint sensor optimally placed on the back, the camera lenses are not touched by mistake. Battery life easily 1 day.

I am absolutely thrilled with the LG G6. It's my first LG and I used to have a Samsung from the Galaxy series. The UI is great, the developers have really thought of something, there is nothing unnecessary and it always runs smoothly and the battery easily lasts a day. I still have about 50% left after a day (with the always on function switched on). With my Galaxy S5, my battery was empty at the end of the day with the same use.
The screen is extremely good and I can't criticise anything. The screen is still bright enough even in bright sunlight.
I decided to buy it mainly because of the IP68 certification and the Hifi DAC. This means that the LG G6 can also be used as a navigation device for motorbikes and I don't have to worry if it rains. With the integrated hi-fi DAC of the dual-sim version, you don't need an additional audio player such as a Fiio X5 or similar.
Furthermore, the Always On function of the display is great. I didn't think I needed it at first, but it's really useful when you can always read the time and see what new notifications have come in.

After much toing and froing, I finally decided on the LG G6 because of the price.
For the price of a mid-range phone, you get a flagship here. The price-performance ratio is unparalleled.
Screen:
The 18:9 screen is great because it allows smaller borders at the top and bottom of the phone. The resolution and colours are also good. The rounded corners are very elegant and are no longer annoying after a short period of getting used to them.
The rounded corners also make the screen more resistant to damage when dropped.
Battery:
The replaceable battery of the older G models has given way to an IP67 rating, which I personally find much better. The Asian version would even include wireless charging. Battery lasts a whole day without any problems.
Camera:
The camera, along with the screen, is the highlight of the G6 in my opinion.
The front and standard back cameras are very high quality and deliver high quality images. The surprise was the built-in wide-angle camera.
At first I thought it was just a little gimmick that I would never touch again after using it three times. But I was wrong. The wide-angle camera is a very good addition to the standard camera. It has its own personal style and larger motifs can also be captured without any problems.
In conclusion, I can recommend this phone to everyone.
