I put a microSDXC card in the thing, unbelievable, who would have thought it, HTC! :D
In my opinion, the new HTC One is even better made than its two predecessors, it feels very classy and despite its size, it still feels good in the hand. The operation is neat, the power button, which has been moved to the right side, does its part, but there is another new feature that really appeals to me: tap the display twice and it comes on - practical if you just want to check the status or the time :-)
HTC Sense on Android is still my preferred interface, it is extremely functional and radiates a self-confident sobriety. It's very easy to use and I can't detect any delays. The display is absolutely sharp, by the way. I can't quite understand the QuadHD craze, FullHD is enough for smartphones. Or does anyone notice a difference?
The camera may not match that of the iPhone 6 or Galaxy 6, but it comes close (sometimes at least). But seriously, is the camera the most important thing on a phone? What about the voice quality? That's where the HTC would be really top! Anyway, HTC has announced an update for the camera, which should be rolled out in the next few days, so let's see if it's any good... The camera is certainly not bad, but it's not perfect ;-)

Beautiful design, feels good in the hand and the performance is impressive :) what more could you want?
I also ordered the Active Case for open-air visits :D
With the DotView case you have a very good hold (you don't have to be afraid that it slips out of your hand).
When using apps with a high CPU load, you notice the heat development and the resulting regulation of the CPU clock frequency enormously. According to HTC, this problem should be fixed soon with an update.
I currently notice that the HTC One M9 has a few problems with memory management, but this could also be due to Android 5.0.2....This problem occurs when, for example, you have a lot of tabs open with Chrome and therefore use a lot of memory, when you then want to switch to the home screen, the whole interface is restarted / rebuilt. This delay can last up to 5 seconds, but is otherwise not too bad.
All in all, I am glad that I chose the HTC instead of Samsung :)

I ordered the one m9 as the successor to my one x (in use since December 2012) and I am very satisfied with it so far. Like all my Android devices, it is already rooted and has a custom rom on it (Viper) because it simply needs less power than the stock rom and the root rights simply allow more modding. The fact that the device has no branding and therefore the stock Rom comes directly from Google instead of from the provider is also optimal. It is great that you can use an external micro SD card (unlike with the one x) so you certainly always have enough space. Unfortunately, however, the battery cannot be easily replaced (as is the case with the desire HD, for example); but by the time the battery is through, the rest of the device is old school.

The HTC is well in its original form, two speakers, metal frame. The new completely plastic models no longer make the physical distinction of an HTC.

Very fast and without breakage!
Top price/performance, good battery, very good voice quality, upgrade to Android 7 without any problems, perfect for the price, only the colour leaves something to be desired, but unfortunately there was no better one for the price

I have had the one m9 since release. The performance is okay. It was never particularly fast. However, this phone is almost indestructible! It has survived several falls, rain and heat. The plastic display and aluminium casing may not be up to date, but they can withstand a lot. My s7 and s7 edge already had display breaks after a few months. The one m9? Scratches and dents. But the display has remained intact.

Mobile phone is great, camera could be better.
Sound, however, is once again great, HTC-like.

Good ergonomics, easy to hold. Nice finish with this aluminium shell and solidity unlike some competitors.
Practical to use. Good quality accessory, easy to obtain and reasonably priced.

The One M9 does not show much progress compared to the M8. Design and hardware are outstanding, but the new camera with 20 megapixels is only convincing during the day. As of March 2017, the M9 is an inexpensive but still good high-end smartphone.

I've been using the HTC M9 for a few weeks now and I'm thrilled with it. Great design and feels good in the hand. The performance leaves nothing to be desired and the battery lasts a long time. I find the memory expansion particularly positive. Thanks to Android 6.0, the memory card can be formatted and used as internal memory. Finally, no more error message "Internal memory full"!

I don't know what I should criticise about the device... I am completely satisfied!
Only the camera sometimes takes an extremely long time to focus, which is a bit disadvantageous depending on the "object" you want to photograph.

This is my 4th HTC phone and I can only recommend it.
It is a top device and is cheaper than my HTC One M7 (Fr. 750.-).
According to the HTC website, it says that you can use memory expansion: microSD™ up to 2 TB. Wow... :-)
But I haven't used a memory expansion myself yet, because I still have enough free memory.
Maybe later.

Technology tip top
Camera also ok
I have a Silver on Gold HTC. Unfortunately it's not silver but rather slightly coppery... but you get used to it.
Although the HTC m9 is technically great, I like the m7 better - at least the design and how it feels in the hand (no edges).

For a few years now I have been looking for a good quality smartphone that allows me to watch videos with very good sound quality.
Before the HTC One M9 I was able to test the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the IPhone 5S. In the end, the M9 was the best match for my expectations despite some minor flaws.
The screen and image quality is very good and the phone is neither too big nor too small. It fits in my pockets without any problem. In terms of colour rendering, however, it is still inferior to Samsung phones, which use super AMOLED technology. Nothing dramatic though.
However, what really sets the M9 apart is the power and quality of its front speakers and the power delivered to the headphone jack. The sound quality is exceptional and I can finally use my AKG K702 studio headphones on a smartphone and still get a decent sound level.
In addition, the HTC version of android is just great to use and very easily customizable.

Overheating of the battery very annoying. I'm very disappointed that I switched to htc and have been using it for a while now, but I'm not sure what to expect. I am very disappointed to have gone to htc. It's my third htc phone and I've only had problems with all three. The design is nice but it's not enough if I can't use all the features. The price you pay is ultimately for those features we all agree. Imagine that your butcher sells you a kilo of enrecote and forces you to eat only a hundred grams because the rest is rotten... That's it in a nutshell.
