Probably the most undervalued and ignored top smartphone on the market. Yet a lot has happened since Blackberry 10.0:
- Most important Android apps now run smoothly (Spotify, Instagram, Wunderlist, Feedly etc.etc.) and quickly.
- The battery life is absolutely outstanding for a 5" device, comparable to the Galaxy Note 3.
- The display is top - AMOLED, but with a stripe matrix, i.e. not pixelated like the pentile things)
- Very well built and valuable
- lots of accessories
- Everything runs smoothly and reliably
If the price comes down a bit, this could become an insider's tip among smartphones. It's a shame that the press is dragging Blackberry through the mud at the moment - they really don't deserve that. I'm not a die-hard BB fan myself and the Z30 is my second BB after the Z10 (which was really crap), but they don't need to hide. Unfortunately, no one seems to know that.
I bought a Blackberry Z30 at Digitec 2 weeks ago.
Unfortunately the device had a new defect. Could not be started.
The entire packaging was exchanged for a brand new package.
The unit was put into operation without any problems.
- Very easy to set up WLAN, MAIL, EXCHANGE etx...
- Top fast
- Enormous number of interfaces (Bluetooth, WLAN, WiFI Direct, Miracast etc.).
- Top workmanship in highest perfection...
- Fits perfectly in the hand
- Very good battery life, better than my Nokias 920 etc...
- Reacts very quickly, incredibly effective after training
- The born communication machine
Apart from the new defect of the first device, which was certainly annoying, but can happen with ANY manufacturer, an absolutely recommendable device, which reveals its true strengths after a short time and provides features that cannot be found with any other manufacturer.
With the update to 10.2.1, more great features will be added around the end of January (release by Swisscom).
By the way, the device is not branded, even though the Swisscom logo appears when it is started up. This logo is transmitted by the provider whose network you dial into.....
Finally a device that doesn't cause me any problems...how could I get along without BB for so long. The OS 10 is really very nicely done, and the fact that it also runs Android apps is another reason to buy it. The device is beautifully finished and feels good in the hand. Add anti-reflective films from Crocfol for protection, and you have the ideal smartphone. It meets my needs perfectly! Bravo RIM/BB

The BB10 operating system is in some respects far better than the current Android or iOS versions. Above all, the BB Hub ensures increased productivity.
With this device, you are not buying a high-end smartphone, but a BlackBerry. With all the advantages and disadvantages that go with it.
Many apps from other platforms are not ported to BB, which is why you usually have to fall back on inferior alternatives.
If you want to install Android apps, you can do so via the Amazon App Store or sideload SNAP and install apps with it. This works for about 70% of the apps. There are problems with the support of Android services, which are not integrated in the BB. There are rumours that Google services can be activated on the Z30. I have not been able to do this.
USB OTG works with separately available accessories.
During software updates, I lost access to my microSD card several times and had to reformat it and reload all content onto it.
Music is no longer offered in the BB store. If you are out and about and want to buy a song (as you know it from Android or iOS), this is not so easy.
The support of covers for music albums lags far behind the competition. However, the built-in equaliser does a good job.
BB has integrated many functions into the operating system that are not available on other platforms or can only be retrofitted to a limited extent. For example, there is a file manager, task manager, statistics for battery and memory usage.
With normal use, I charged the battery after two to three days if it was then already below 50% charge. A better battery capacity is probably only available from Sony in some Xperia models.

A smartphone of the first order. Very solidly made (recently fell from 1 metre onto the concrete floor = no damage!) Software (OS/BB) runs very smoothly. The operation is kept very simple and thus the smartphone can be operated optimally even in hectic phases. In my opinion, BlackBerry has definitely caught up with the smartphone market again with the Z30, apart from the few technical exceptions.
For the price (currently 319.-), you can't get a better smartphone at the moment. The workmanship is excellent. Of course, haptics are very subjective, but I personally would rank it close to my personal reference, an iPhone 6, and thus above any Samsung plastic toy. The operating system is fast, lean and not cluttered with bloatware. Unnecessary apps like Foursquare, Twitter, Dropbox, etc. can all be uninstalled. The selection of native apps (Build for BB) is very limited, but thanks to the good support for Android applications in BB 10.3, this is not a problem. These can be installed either directly from the preinstalled Amazon App Store or with the help of the Google Play Store replacement "Snap" (http://redlightoflove.com/snap instructions on Crackberry.com). I was able to install my "must-haves" SBB and GoogleMaps (for public transport navigation) with manageable effort.
