The manufacturer confirms PCIe Gen3 x4. And yes, we can make changes to the product data, but only provisionally, these are still being checked and only then permanently accepted in the shop. We often hear the joke about the price, but this feature has not yet been released for editing.

you answered the question yourself. sata is not compatible with nvme. there are hybrid ports, but i doubt that this is one of them. for an m.2 sata port you have to use a sata ssd in m.2 format. check the length if necessary. (usually 2280)

QNAP has a list of what is supported for each model. It will fit if the TS-253-B has an M2 slot that supports the 2280 length (8cm). However, I do not see an M2 slot in the NAS mentioned. Possibly via plug-in card, of course.
