Unfortunately, we do not have a delivery date for this item at the moment. As soon as something becomes known, we will enter it immediately.
Hi Normanb2 - I have 4 cameras and 3 access points running with the UniFi Cloud Key G2+ firmware v.1.1.13. So far I have had no problems with it. I also use "UniFi Protect" for the display but not for the installation. I always go directly to the device itself via the browser with the IP address of the could key. Have you tried this way?
This type of cloud key does not have a battery, if you also look at the official website it is not mentioned and mine which is from 2019 does not have one. You have to power it via a UPS.
Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to order this item.🙁
Yes, you can change the disc up to 5TB
Hello borissommer There is no longer a battery in the newer models. I had also bought one and it turned off directly. I asked the dealer and got the following answer: "the product manager had enquired once and only now received a reply. The following was written to us: Ubiquiti no longer used the battery from model year 2022 onwards because the batteries became very warm due to the high heat in the housing and inflated. This is a safety risk and also caused many RMAs, so Ubiquiti has solved the problem by removing the battery. You now need an external UPS with the new models if you want to operate the device without interruption." This is also confirmed here: https://community.ui.com/questions/Cloud-Key-Gen-2-Plus-Battery-Issue/9ee06ca6-2e91-41e6-a1d9-68be859f54dd#answer/2d91ccfb-ce9a-4888-a887-9384cd163c5d I also asked the question here at Digitec and an employee confirmed this. Greetings
This is correct. There is no battery installed.
Alternatively, you can use the Ubiquiti U-POE-AF (art. no. 9558411), which is much cheaper.
How old? Still under guarantee? Probably a defective battery. There are some where the battery is defective and it has bulged. Open it up, take the battery out and operate it without (warranty gone!).
You've come to the right place in the unifi community https://community.ui.com
It's best to take a 2.5" SSD if you want it to be as quiet as possible. Otherwise, any standard 2.5" laptop hard drive will fit.
The Cloud Key is already built into the Dream Machine (Pro).
Yes, either via PoE or with a USB-C cable to a suitable power supply unit
1. the "UnifyOS" and the apps are only available in English. 2. start administration via Chrome; open the network app, click on Settings - WIFI - Advanced - Security - set "Hide WiFi Name" - Apply Changes
Yes. I have the US-8-60W. I have a Cloud Key plus gen.2 and 2 UAP-AC LRs.
The Cloudkey / Gen 2 / Gen 2 Plus / replaces the software-based controller solution for Mac or PC. The Dreammachine combines the whole thing with the Security GatewaY and an 8-port switch.
The AP's have to be "adopted" first (pending adoption). You can read how to do this here: https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012622613-UniFi-Device-Adoption
Unfortunately, I cannot say much about the performance of the captive portal, but the overall performance has been noticeably improved. Another thing we have observed is the stability of the Gen 2 compared to the legacy CK due to the integrated battery. The database used (mongodb) is very vulnerable and corrupted relatively quickly in the event of a power interruption without graceful shutdown, which leads to a total failure of the CK. /sa
This is designed for supply via the network cable. But I think a USB-C adapter should be enough.
The Cloud Key Plus Gen 2 has two functions: 1/ it serves as a management server for all Ubiquiti hardware (e.g. to configure the Security Gateway firewall rules or to create a Wi-Fi guest network) and (2) it serves as a video server for the Ubiquiti cameras with the Ubiquiti PROTECT application. To my knowledge it is not possible to store video from Arlo cameras on the Key Gen 2 Cloud (both are proprietary systems, and competitors at that). The PROTECT video system works well, even in the dark. If something moves in my house I get an alert on my mobile and I see what happened. For example the postman leaving a Digitec delivery in the garage :) The app shows the movements detected by blue dots on the time axis, and the position in the video stream is controlled live by a simple swipe of the finger. The only downside is that there are sometimes false alerts, e.g. if clouds cause the light to change quickly. Ubiquiti is constantly improving the product with updates. These are fairly technical products, so avoid them if you are not computer literate. On the other hand, the level of control offered over your Wi-Fi, firewall, local network etc. is worthy of professional products, at a price well below that of professional equipment. The functionality + quality / price ratio is just incredible. I recycled my Asus Wi-Fi router (which forced me to accept Spyware activation in exchange for security features, a scandal! ) as a Wi-Fi Bridge to connect an isolated PC, and don't regret the investment made in Ubiquiti hardware.
Finally, Linux runs on the Cloudkey and if you find an appropriate installation package it would be quite possible. However, whether it really makes sense to abuse the thing as a NAS, it only has one disk.
