The RJ-45 sockets are earthed on the second model, but not on the first. Important to know: If you do not have fully earthed equipment in your network (all Ethernet cables shielded as well as the ports on the access device (modem or router), I recommend a non-shielded switch. I have partially shielded cables in my installation but no shielded router and before I had constant interference and blockages in the network. Since I installed the unshielded switch - no more interference.
