Is the length measured on the cable itself or the total length with both couplings?

The cable itself is 25 cm accurate. From plug to plug it is exactly 38 cm. You get 42 cm if you also add the three "male" plugs "posts".

Is it possible to unscrew this cable and remove the child safety lock without cutting open the plug? Unfortunately, this is not visible in the pictures. There are almost no products without childproof locks any more, but there are still households without children.

There are no screws. However, the childproof lock is not a nuisance. In any case, I haven't noticed anything.
