The exorbitant price is not from Digitec, but from das Warenhaus.ch. digitec sells the lens for 886Fr. In fact, I also ask myself what the point is. It confuses customers and damages its reputation. Digitec seems to tolerate the rip-off. It's such a coincidence that they also have their domicile in Wohlen. The evil of it all...

According to my research, both are technically identical. There is an EU model and a CH model, as the manufacturer usually gives a longer warranty period for the CH model in Switzerland if you register the product with the manufacturer. In addition, a CH product can participate in cash-back campaigns from the manufacturer in Switzerland, whereas an EU model cannot. Technically, however, they are identical as mentioned above. The release date on our website indicates the date of the sales launch in Switzerland and not that of the manufacturer itself. Unfortunately, I am not aware of a 2024 model; Sony launched the lenses on the market in 2015.

The difference between the two variants of the Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS lens lies mainly in the region for which they are intended. The EU variant is specifically designed for the European market, while the other version may be intended for other regions. There are no technical differences in the lens specifications themselves, such as focal length, aperture or macro capabilities. The main difference could be in the packaging, instructions or warranty conditions, which may vary from region to region.

That's a good question. In my opinion, this is not possible because you have to submit the invoice in order to claim cashback from Sony. Cashback is only available until 31.7. This lens is not easily available elsewhere. But there are dealers who have it in stock. Just not at this price like here. And not with double cashback either.

And that's why it only costs twice as much at the department stores'. Double! So 1,800 instead of 900. The cashback doesn't help any more. Have a look at Toppreise to see if it's available in other shops in Switzerland. It's not only not available at Digitec, no other shop has it in stock. Okey, almost none. At the red B, there are still two on the shelf at the moment. In Germany, too, the availability is poor. There are shops that don't give availability in weeks, no, they give it in months. So it has very little to do with being (un)friendly to customers. sorry
