We source this product from various suppliers, both in Germany and abroad. For technical reasons, however, we cannot control which version is ultimately dispatched. However, we grant a 5-year guarantee on this item, regardless of which supplier it comes from. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any information on the Rescue Service.

The cache is 256 MB, the storage technology is CMR (Conventional Magnetic Recording) and the hard drive is filled with helium. The maximum workload rate per year is 550 TB, and the maximum internal transfer rate is not explicitly stated, but the interface supports SATA 6 Gb/s at 7200 rpm. These figures correspond to the specifications for the 16 TB version of Seagate's IronWolf Pro series.

I have installed the disc in a Synology. Even though it is not certified by Synology, the disc works without any problems. However, as a server disc it is clearly audible when accessing data. It just depends on whether that bothers you or not.

The Seagate IronWolf Pro hard drives are specifically designed for NAS systems and are tested by leading NAS suppliers such as Synology. However, the IronWolf Pro is not listed on the compatibility list for certain Synology models such as the DS1522+ or DS923+, although they may still work. It is advisable to consult Synology's official compatibility list to ensure that the hard drive works optimally with the chosen NAS model.

The discs have 5 years. We have now also adjusted the display in the shop. Customers who purchased a plate before the correction can contact our customer service for the 5-year guarantee or process the guarantee directly via the manufacturer.

The 24 TB version is from a different supplier and unfortunately not integrated into the other versions, we apologise for the inconvenience. The number on the largest version is actually black, which is probably the manufacturer's creative freedom.

Enclosed according to research: The IronWolf Pro from Seagate is designed for NAS systems, making it ideal for small to medium-sized businesses or creative professionals who need a reliable storage solution. It is designed for continuous operation and has functions for monitoring the drive status. The Seagate Exos X24, on the other hand, is designed for data centres and mission-critical applications. It offers plenty of storage space (up to 24 TB) and is designed for 24/7 continuous operation. It is well suited for data-intensive applications such as cloud storage or big data applications.

Of course. But I don't know what effect this has on RAIDs, whether the slower speed is then simply used for all disks. But if you either don't have a RAID or only combine discs of the same speed in a RAID, it's not a problem.

This is correct, the higher this specification is, the more they have been designed for a higher data exchange and accordingly physical load. At the time of my review, both have almost the same price. This is due to the offer and is related to many factors such as the purchase price and the price calculation. In such a case, I would clearly recommend the one with 550TB/Y.

It works. I am using it with Synology. The main reason is likely the noise level, and energy consumption if you have a very large NAS: enterprise HDD are designed for different specs, and NAS-specific drives have special features to make them quiet. In this specific case, it can take a while to spin up all the drives if they sleep and when they are working they are noticeable louder than my precious NAS-specific Ironwolfs
