For the time being, I am operating the NAS with only one hard disk. The NAS has 2x RAM slots of 1GB each. I have now ordered 1x 8GB RAM and put it in the primary slot, in the 2nd slot I have kept the 1GB. Now it is so that the NAS cannot be switched on in this combination. If I have both 1GB in it, it works. Is it necessary to have the same amount of RAM in both slots or is it possible that the 8GB is defective?

I found out myself,according to the specification a maximum of 8GB RAM is possible ;)

Is this a ready-made device or do I still have to buy hard disks? Raid 0, raid 1 or others?

Look at the product specifications: it says "empty housing", so you don't have any hard drives yet. You have to decide the RAID configuration yourself, depending on how much effective storage you want and whether you want to protect your data.
