To Burty: I have been using this product for a long time. Yes, 30 cm gives super nice sharp films. Also very close. I cannot guarantee very fast movements. Hope this gives you enough hope. Hp
I think the sound quality is great. Perfectly adequate for me, anyway.
Yes, the camera can save images to the local SD card of the camera or to an FTP server in the local network. I can't say how reliable the motion detection is, as I don't use it or don't trust it. I suspect that will be the biggest challenge.
Hi, Yes, there is a 'microSD Card Slot', which I don't use and yes it does detect movement. I personally don't use this feature because while the camera, image and IR are good, the software seems to be from another era. The wide angle of view means that there should be a lot of recordings, so use it with a NAS such as a Synology! User manual : https://media.dlink.eu/ftp/products/dcs/dcs-2670l/documentation/DCS-2670L_man_revA1_1-00_eu_en_20180419.pdf
10 second streams including a jpg are stored on the SD card if the conditions for a recording are given (movement or noise). These can then be retrieved at any time using the app. Likewise a lifestream with the possibility of taking (sharper) pictures. I tried to integrate a cloud instead of the SD card, but failed with the corresponding app. Access to the micro card (128 GB is enough for weeks) is possible from everywhere.
After this worked with my other two DLink Cams DCS 932 and 9332) without any problems (Mycloud as NAS), I have not yet succeeded in connecting the DCS 2670 with Mycloud. This is very annoying.
Does the NAS also have to be from D-Link, or can I also control my Netgear NAS and store the videos?
Like most d-link cameras, the camera has addresses via which you can call up the live image as a still image or video. This means that you can actually record live images with any NAS that has a recording function.
